Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: How do I join ICES?
A: You can join with cash, check or credit card at your
local Day of Sharing, or join on-line at www.ICES.org
with a credit card.
Q: What is DOS?
A: DOS stands for Day of Sharing. The SC Chapter of ICES
meets approximately once a quarter for a day of demonstrations
and ideas and a membership meeting. Some DOS are potluck
and some are catered. Click on Events
for upcoming DOS dates.
Q: Do I have to be an ICES member to attend the
Day of Sharing (DOS)?
A: No, you do not have to be a member to attend a chapter
meeting. However, our "policy" is typically
"first time a visitor, second time a member."
We invite you to come to a meeting and check us out--see
if you want to be a part of ICES and SC ICES.
Q: Can I be a member of another state's ICES
group?
A: No, your ICES membership is based on the state in which
you reside. While you are certainly welcome and encouraged
to attend other states' Days of Sharing, your membership
will be based on the state where you live.
Q: Can I bring a guest/non-member with me to
a Day of Sharing?
A: Absolutely. Anyone is welcome at our sharing days.
We charge a door fee on those days to members and guests
alike.
Q: How often and where do you meet?
A: SC ICES meets approximately four times per year--once
per quarter. Since we are a statewide organization, meetings
move around the state so that all members share the driving.
Check out our Events page for
meeting dates and locations.
Q: Do I have to pre-register?
A: We highly encourage pre-registration so our demonstrators
can plan accordingly and we have plenty of handouts for
everyone. However, it is not required.
